The short version
- Unpause doesn’t have accounts and doesn’t send your data to us or anyone else.
- Your fasts, weight, workouts, meals and settings are stored on your iPhone and synced through your own private iCloud, so they follow you to your other devices. We can’t see them.
- We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs, and we never sell data.
Who we are
Unpause is made by Joze Gradisar (“we”). For anything about this policy or your data, email joze@gn1.io.
Information the app stores
To work, Unpause stores the following on your device:
- Your profile: goal, sex (optional), age, height, weight, target weight, typical activity, usual meal times, fasting plan, units and preferences.
- Your logs: fasts (start and end times), weigh-ins, workouts and, if you choose to log them, calories.
This data lives in a storage area on your iPhone that only Unpause, its widgets and its extensions can read. It is used only to show you your estimates, progress and reminders. It is included in your device backups (iCloud or computer) under your control, like other app data.
iCloud sync
If you’re signed in to iCloud, Unpause keeps a copy of your fasts, weigh-ins, workouts, meals and settings in your private iCloud database, so they sync across your iPhone and iPad and come back on a new device. Apple stores this data in your iCloud account; only you can access it, and we cannot read it. To turn sync off, go to Settings › your name › iCloud and turn off Unpause. Unpause never copies your Apple Health data to iCloud.
Apple Health
If you turn on Apple Health, Unpause asks for permission to:
- Read workouts, active energy and steps, to include your workouts in your fat-burn estimate.
- Write body weight, to save your weigh-ins to Health.
Health data stays on your device. We don’t send it anywhere, don’t use it for advertising or marketing, and don’t share it with third parties. You can change these permissions anytime in the Health app › Sharing › Apps › Unpause.
Apple Watch, widgets and notifications
The Apple Watch app gets your current fast and recent history directly from your iPhone using Apple’s on-device connection. Widgets, the Live Activity and Control Center read the same data on your iPhone. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. No server is involved.
Purchases
Unpause Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple processes your payment; we never see your payment details. The app checks your subscription status with Apple on your device.
What we don’t do
- No accounts, sign-up or email collection in the app.
- No analytics, crash-reporting, advertising or tracking SDKs.
- No selling or sharing of your data, and no tracking across apps or websites.
This website
getunpause.com is a static website. It doesn’t use cookies, analytics or trackers. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard technical information (like IP address) to deliver and protect the site.
Your rights and choices
Because your data is on your devices and in your own iCloud, you’re in control: you can edit or delete entries in the app, deleting Unpause deletes its data on that device, and you can remove its iCloud data in Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage. If you email us, we use your message only to reply, and you can ask us to delete it. If you’re in the EU, UK or another region with data-protection laws, you have rights to access, correct and delete personal data we hold. Apart from support emails, we hold none.
Children
Unpause is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change how Unpause handles data, for example by adding a service that processes data off your device, we’ll update this page and the date above before the change ships.
